BENCH JEWELER

Role Overview:

The Bench Jeweler at WWAKE is essential in delivering precision craftsmanship for our luxury jewelry collections. This position entails performing a range of bench jewelry tasks such as soldering, polishing, and stone setting, along with operating advanced equipment like laser welders. The successful candidate will uphold WWAKE's standards of excellence and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality finishing and timely production of our pieces. This role demands a combination of technical skills, creative finesse, and a proactive approach to handling a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute basic bench jewelry production tasks including cleaning castings, assembly/wire working, soldering, and polishing.
  • Operate laser welding equipment proficiently.
  • Perform despruing and detailed cleaning of castings.
  • Demonstrate basic stone setting abilities.
  • Maintain an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive routine to deliver finished pieces within tight deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Must be available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
  • At least 1 year of experience in jewelry production is necessary.
  • Experience using a laser welder and performing tasks such as despruing, cleaning castings, and polishing.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable, willing to undertake a variety of tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Independent worker with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Excellent communication and follow-through skills; must be able to work effectively with a small team.

Compensation:

  • Compensation ranges from $21 to $26 per hour.

ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER

Job Overview:
The Assistant Production Manager at WWAKE plays a crucial role in supporting production operations under the supervision of the Production Manager. This position involves detailed management of daily operational tasks, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and maintaining efficient production timelines. It also requires effective collaboration with various departments to support the seamless execution of production strategies.

Responsibilities:

Production Tracking System:

  • Improve and maintain a comprehensive tracking system for production, covering the entire process from placing orders and sourcing materials to overseeing actual production to ensure seamless execution and delivery.

Operational and Quality Assurance:

  • Assist in managing and overseeing the daily operations within production, ensuring compliance with WWAKE's quality standards.
  • Act as a key point of communication for production status and updates, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues, providing creative solutions to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.

Strategic Implementation:

  • Support strategic planning initiatives and contribute to the production calendar to ensure alignment with overall company goals.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to implement strategies that enhance efficiency and productivity. 

Vendor Coordination and Material Sourcing:

  • Assist with vendor relationships, ensuring materials meet WWAKE’s ethical and quality standards.
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials and oversee the logistics of material delivery to maintain production schedules.

Quality Control Specialist Tasks:

  • Conduct quality control assessments of incoming materials to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Work directly with vendors to resolve quality issues, ensuring all products adhere to WWAKE’s high standards.

Training and Development:

  • Help train and mentor new team members, ensuring they are proficient in WWAKE’s production standards and processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the production team. 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of three years experience in a production management role, preferably within the luxury or fine jewelry industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple aspects of production operations with a strong focus on quality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Keen attention to detail and a commitment to achieving high standards of quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with various teams and external partners.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production demands and work under pressure.

 Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary: $65,000
  • Health benefits (medical, dental, vision) with 50% of premiums paid by WWAKE
  • 35 days annual leave: 15 days PTO (increases with tenure), 10 federal holidays, 5 days at year-end, and 5 sick days
  • Eligibility for WWAKE’s 401K plan, including a 3% company contribution and potential profit-sharing
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave with a flexible return-to-work policy
  • Annual jewelry allowance that increases with tenure and employee discount
