CARE

Our jewelry is special. It is delicate by nature of being small and we encourage customers to take extra care when wearing it daily. An easy tip is taking off your rings when you are doing rough hand work that may damage a stone or the shape of a ring. We also recommend taking your jewelry off when washing your hands, showering and sleeping. When putting on sweaters, going through pockets, etc. we also recommend spinning the rings to the inside of your hand to avoid the shapes or prong settings from getting caught on anything. (It helps to make a fist around them when putting on sweaters!)

We do not recommend our open rings as adjustable! If they fit like a glove, they will have a long life, and we recommend this over any shortcuts.

OPAL CARE

Our opals are all natural and each unique to their cut and color. We're proud of our stones and guarantee the best selection that is available. Please note that while we guarantee this quality, we, however, cannot promise exact replicas of the colors photographed due to the natural variations within the stone. Thank you in advance for understanding!

While we love the brilliance of our opals, it's important to know that this comes hand in hand with the fact that they are a "softer" stone. In general, we recommend being gentle with your opal rings. Opals are sensitive to extreme temperatures and for this reason we strongly recommend not wearing your opal jewelry in the shower, spas, hot tubs, etc.

When you are not wearing your opal jewelry, store these soft, precious gemstones in a cotton or microfiber pouch. When it comes to cleaning your opal jewelry make sure to use non harsh chemicals or soaps. Warm water or gentle jewelry cleaner and your fingers are the best tools to use when cleaning your opals; when in doubt take your special piece to a professional jeweler to have it cleaned for you!

Opals have a tendency to be affected by extreme temperature changes, therefore you should never steam clean or place an opal in an ultrasonic. If you have any further care or cleaning concerns, feel free to email customerservice@wwake.com and we can help with next steps.

MOONSTONE CARE

Moonstones are soft, precious gemstones that require their own specific care instructions. In order to maintain the moonstones’ inner light, please avoid wearing your moonstone jewelry when exercising or working with your hands. The best way to clean your moonstone jewelry is to use a soft toothbrush and a gentle jewelry cleaner then rinse with warm water and dry with a soft, clean microfiber cloth. When in doubt take your special piece to a professional jeweler to have it cleaned for you!

These gemstones can be steamed and placed in an ultrasonic to be cleaned. If you ever need a deep clean, feel free to email customerservice@wwake.com and we can help with next steps.

TANZANITE / PERIDOT / CITRINE / AMETHYST CARE

Tanzanite, Peridot, Citrine, and Amethyst have similar material characteristics and can therefore be cared for in the same way. These stones do have the tendency to wear down over time through daily wear and tear; this is more likely when these stones are set into a ring. For that reason we recommend avoiding wearing jewelry with these stones when working with your hands and or exercising. Clean these gemstones with a soft toothbrush and gentle cleaner then rinse with warm water and dry with a soft, clean microfiber cloth to make sure they are always looking their best. When in doubt take your special piece to a professional jeweler to have it cleaned for you!

EMERALD CARE

The emeralds that WWAKE provides are high quality and carefully selected and therefore require specific care instructions to ensure their longevity. Emeralds are more inclined to have internal features that create unique colors, vibrancy and saturations in each stone. In order to keep these features intact within an Emerald they are often treated with oil. These inclusions can remain stable for a long time, but they can form hairline cracks or chips over time if knocked around on a daily basis. We do not typically recommend them for engagement rings. We recommend taking your ring off when exercising or doing anything rough with your hands. Extreme temperature changes can affect the structural integrity of the gemstone and you should never steam clean or place an emerald in an ultrasonic. The best way to clean Emeralds is with a soft toothbrush and gentle jewelry cleaner then rinse with warm water and dry with a soft, clean microfiber cloth. When in doubt take your special piece to a professional jeweler to have it cleaned for you!

TOURMALINE / AQUAMARINE / GARNET CARE

Tourmaline, aquamarine, and garnets have similar material characteristics and can therefore be cared for in the same way. These stones do have the tendency to wear down over time through daily wear and tear; this is more likely when these stones are set into a ring. For that reason we recommend avoiding wearing jewelry with these stones when working with your hands and or exercising. RUBY / SAPPHIRE CARE

Ruby and sapphire have similar material characteristics and can therefore be cared for in the same way. These gemstones are the most durable color gemstones we offer. These stones may wear down over a lifetime of wear and this is more likely when these stones are set into a ring, but their durability allows for long wear. Clean these gemstones with a soft toothbrush and gentle cleaner then rinse with warm water and dry with a soft, clean microfiber cloth to make sure they are always looking their best. When in doubt take your special piece to a professional jeweler to have it cleaned for you!

These gemstones can be steamed and placed in an ultrasonic to be cleaned. If you ever need a deep clean, feel free to email customerservice@wwake.com and we can help with next steps.

DIAMOND CARE

Diamonds are the hardest gemstone option and are therefore less likely to wear down through a lifetime of wear. Of course, it is still possible for diamonds to chip or abrade with heavy wear and we recommend taking your ring off when exercising or doing anything rough with your hands. The best way to clean Diamonds is with a soft toothbrush and gentle jewelry cleaner then rinse with warm water and dry with a soft, clean microfiber cloth. When in doubt take your special piece to a professional jeweler to have it cleaned for you!

These gemstones can be steamed and placed in an ultrasonic to be cleaned. If you ever need a deep clean, feel free to email customerservice@wwake.com and we can help with next steps.

10K GOLD CARE

10k gold can darken with wear, depending on body chemistry. This is most common on the inside of rings or on earrings but it’s easy to fix! A polishing cloth usually will clear this right up but anything particularly stubborn can be taken to a reputable jeweler to be used in an ultrasonic cleanser.

GEMSTONE CARE

Gemstones that have pointed edges such as emerald cut, baguette, princess, carre, radiant, marquise, and fancy cut shapes like kite, hexagon, or shield are more susceptible to break at the point. Always treat your pieces with extra care to ensure their longevity.

WWAKE is not responsible for broken or lost stones, however, does offer stone replacements for a reasonable repair fee. We also offer polishing, resizing, and prong tightening of any WWAKE products.
