BENCH JEWELER

Role Overview:
The Bench Jeweler at WWAKE is essential in delivering precision craftsmanship for our luxury jewelry collections. This position entails performing a range of bench jewelry tasks such as soldering, polishing, and stone setting, along with operating advanced equipment like laser welders. The successful candidate will uphold WWAKE's standards of excellence and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality finishing and timely production of our pieces. This role demands a combination of technical skills, creative finesse, and a proactive approach to handling a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute basic bench jewelry production tasks including cleaning castings, assembly/wire working, soldering, and polishing.
  • Operate laser welding equipment proficiently.
  • Perform despruing and detailed cleaning of castings.
  • Demonstrate basic stone setting abilities.
  • Maintain an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive routine to deliver finished pieces within tight deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Must be available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
  • At least 1 year of experience in jewelry production is necessary.
  • Experience using a laser welder and performing tasks such as despruing, cleaning castings, and polishing.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable, willing to undertake a variety of tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Independent worker with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Excellent communication and follow-through skills; must be able to work effectively with a small team.

Compensation:

  • Compensation ranges from $21 to $26 per hour.

SHIPPING COORDINATOR

Role Overview:
The Shipping Coordinator at WWAKE is vital to our operations, expertly managing retail and wholesale orders' picking and packing processes. Your contribution ensures that each piece of our luxury jewelry arrives in perfect condition, reflecting the high standards our clients expect from WWAKE. With a focus on precision and efficiency, you will help uphold the exemplary standards of order fulfilment that define our brand, enhancing customer satisfaction and operational success throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute picking and packing processes for retail and wholesale orders with precision.
  • Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately by following detailed packing lists and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and ensure product availability for all orders.
  • Regularly print order sheets and shipping manifests to facilitate efficient order processing.
  • Receive inbound shipments and distribute items to corresponding departments, including logging production orders and fulfilling associated Shopify orders.
  • Conduct quality control checks and maintain records of any quality control issues.
  • Oversee daily pickups from FedEx/UPS/DHL and manage the receipt of special orders, ensuring timely processing and shipment.
  • Keep track of shipping and office supplies levels, ensuring the refill station is adequately stocked.
  • Maintain clear and continuous communication with each department to ensure smooth operations and address any issues promptly.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year experience in shipping and logistics, preferably within the luxury or fine jewelry industry.
  • Proficiency in shipping regulations and compliance, mainly for handling and shipping fine jewelry or international shipments.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain high levels of organization.
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute effectively within a team environment, ensuring clear and consistent communication across departments.
  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. The ability to prioritize tasks and respond efficiently to time-sensitive situations is crucial.
  • Physically able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods, accommodating the physical demands of picking, packing, and managing inventory.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, such as Shopify and Monday.com, to track orders and update inventory status effectively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to order fulfillment, inventory discrepancies, and shipping complications.
  • Skilled in monitoring supply levels and initiating reorders of shipping and packing materials to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Experience conducting quality control checks and maintaining meticulous records of issues for continuous improvement.

Compensation:

  • $29 per hour.
  • Hours range from 10 to 20 per week and will flexibly align with our peak periods and business needs.
  • Up to 80 hours of PTO (accrual based).

DESIGN ASSISTANT

Role Overview:
The Design Assistant is a key member of our design team, providing essential support to the Design Director and Designer. This role is suited for individuals who are passionate about the art of jewelry making, meticulous in managing details, and eager to contribute to the creation of beautiful and ethically crafted jewelry. As a Design Assistant, you will play a critical role in the development and execution of our collections from concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Support: Assist the Designer with creating sketches, technical drawings, and spec sheets for new designs.
  • Material Preparation: Select and prepare materials for design meetings, ensuring all necessary components are available for sample creation and production orders (POs).
  • Prototype Assistance: Work closely with the production team to develop samples, ensuring that designs are accurately translated into finished products.
  • PO Management: Create and manage purchase orders for materials and components, coordinating with vendors to ensure timely completion of samples.
  • Sample Management: Maintain an organized system of in-process and finished samples, cataloging materials and tracking the status of each piece.
  • Administrative Tasks: Oversee the design board on monday.com, ensuring all data, including POs, deadlines, sample photos, and cost sheets, are accurate and current. Prepare presentations and physical samples for design meetings.
  • Cost Sheet Creation: Develop detailed cost sheets that accurately reflect the cost of goods sold (COGs) for review by the Designer and Design Director.
  • Launch Documentation: Generate comprehensive launch documents detailing product specifications for the e-commerce and sales teams, supporting effective product launches.

Qualifications:

Education: Degree in Design, Fashion, Jewelry Design, or a related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a design support role, preferably in jewelry or a related luxury goods field.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience in Rhinoceros 3D is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and a passion for jewelry design.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

  • $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience

  • GIA certification is highly valued, though not mandatory.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $50,000
  • Commission: Uncapped earning potential with an estimated additional $15,000 based on sales goals. This amount is not set, and earning even more is possible depending on performance.
